Goal

Reach to the potential community members

FFF (Feminist Filmmakers Forever) is a safe community for women working in the film and video industry, founded in 2020 in Seoul, South Korea. Since joining FFF as a staff member in 2021, I have been responsible for managing the organization’s social media content.

FFF’s social media served several purposes: recruiting new members, showcasing internal and external events, and sharing statements on current social issues. When I took over the channel, my primary goal was to expand its reach and attract more potential members to the community.

Approach

Create posts people want to share

FFF’s existing social media posts followed a highly consistent format, with green text on a black background across nearly every post. While this maintained a recognizable identity, it also made the feed feel visually repetitive and static. I wanted to bring more energy and variety to the channel without losing the organization’s established visual identity.

I expanded the graphic system while maintaining FFF’s core visual elements: green-screen green, color key magenta, and off-screen black. This allowed each post to have its own visual character while still feeling connected to the broader identity.

The first campaign I worked on was member recruitment. I felt the recruitment posts needed to be more viral, so I adapted a popular meme into the campaign. At the time, long, dramatic titles styled like romance-fantasy graphic novels were popular in South Korea, and I incorporated this meme throughout the recruitment period. This approach helped FFF receive its highest number of member applications to date.

Afterward, I established several recurring content formats to make the organization’s activities easier to recognize and follow. Regular programs such as workshops, portfolio review, and newsletters were given consistent visual treatments, while posts responding to current social issues were developed with new designs.

Achievement

“Is this really the same Naver account?”

By maintaining FFF’s core visual identity while introducing more diverse and engaging design elements, I helped grow the organization’s Instagram following from under 1,000 to over 4,000 followers. The channel also became a more effective communication platform for sharing FFF’s activities, achievements, and the voices of its members with a broader audience.
